Concurrent-user (floating) licences allow users on a network to share licences for Analyse-it. The number of concurrent user licences determines how many users on the network can use Analyse-it at once. When a user starts Analyse-it a licence is allocated to that user, then released when the user closes Analyse-it & Microsoft Excel. If many users need infrequent access to Analyse-it concurrent network licences can be more cost-effective than per-user licences.
To enable concurrent network licences Analyse-it must be installed on a server. The server need not be a dedicated network server but must be a PC accessible by all network clients (where Analyse-it will used) and must be a PC where Analyse-it will not be used. Network client PCs must reference the folder where Analyse-it is installed using exactly the same UNC path and will require read/write/create access to the Licences folder within the Analyse-it installation folder.
Before installing or updating an installation, we recommend you check our web-site at http://analyse-it.com/support/download to ensure you are using the latest version available.
To install Analyse-it on the network server:
Installing from CD: Insert the CD in your CD-ROM drive. If the installer automatically starts click Cancel. Then click Start, then click Run, and then type D:\SETUP.EXE /n and press ENTER (where D:\ is the drive letter of your CD-ROM drive).
The network client install can be performed on as many network client PCs as necessary. Analyse-it will automatically control and limit concurrent use of the software to the number of concurrent licences you own.
