Deploying the softwareDeploy the software when you are installing on many computers, installing without a user interface, or installing for everyone who uses the computer. For one computer at a time, run the single installer without properties; see Installing the software.

  • Check the computers meet the system requirements.
  • If you are using a Windows Installer package, find out whether Microsoft Excel is 32-bit or 64-bit on the computers you are installing to. See Checking Microsoft Excel and Analyse-it match.
  • You will need an administrator to install for everyone who uses the computer.
  • Close Microsoft Excel.

Either installer accepts the same properties on the command line. The single installer (.EXE) detects whether Microsoft Excel is 32-bit or 64-bit and installs the matching version, so you do not have to check each computer. Use a Windows Installer package (.MSI) when you need to install without a user interface, which the single installer cannot do.

  1. Download the single installer (.EXE), or the 32-bit or 64-bit Windows Installer package (.MSI) to match Microsoft Excel.
  2. Open a Command Prompt as an administrator.

An ordinary Command Prompt is enough if you are installing just for your own Windows account.

  3. Run the installer with the properties for the install you want:

    msiexec /i Analyse-it.msi ALLUSERS=1 PRODUCTKEY=P-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX

    Or, with the single installer:

    Analyse-it.exe ALLUSERS=1 PRODUCTKEY=P-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX

Use the file name you downloaded in place of Analyse-it.msi. PRODUCTKEY fills in the product key, so each person enters only their name, organisation, and e-mail address when they activate. See Installer properties for the full list.

  4. Repeat on each computer, or run the same command from your deployment tool.
Analyse-it starts whenever anyone starts Microsoft Excel. Each person must activate from within the software, using their own Windows account. See Activating a license.
Updating replaces the copy everyone shares and needs administrator rights. Deploy each update the same way if the people using it do not have them, or if you have turned updates off. See Updating the software.
