Turning off updatesAnalyse-it checks for updates and tells people when one is available. Turn updates off when you deploy updates yourself, or when you want to control which version people use, for example on a virtual desktop.

  • Analyse-it 6.24 or later on each computer.
  • You will need an administrator to make this change on each computer.

When updates are turned off, Analyse-it does not tell people about updates and does not let them check for or install an update. It still connects to analyse-it.com to check the license.

Note: The setting applies however Analyse-it was installed, for everyone who uses the computer or just for a Windows account. It changes only what Analyse-it does. It does not prevent someone from running an installer.

Set this registry value on each computer:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Analyse-it\Analyse-it for Microsoft Excel

Value name DisableUpdates, type REG_DWORD, data 1. Set it to 0, or delete it, to turn updates on again.

Use Group Policy Preferences to set it on many computers.

Analyse-it no longer shows update notices, and Check for Updates on the Analyse-it menu is not available. Deploy updates yourself; see Deploying the software. If Check for Updates is still available, check that the value is in the key shown above and that the version is 6.24 or later.
