Plotting a single ROC curve

Plot the receiver-operator characteristic (ROC) curve to visualize the accuracy of a diagnostic test.

  1. Select a cell in the dataset.
  2. On the Analyse-it ribbon tab, in the Statistical Analyses group, click Diagnostic, and then under the Accuracy heading, click ROC Curve.
    The analysis task pane opens.
  3. In the True state drop-down list, select the true condition variable.
  4. In the Positive event drop-down list, select the state that indicates the presence of the condition/event of interest.
  5. In the Y drop-down list, select the diagnostic test variable.
  6. Optional: To show a bi-histogram of the distributions of the diagnostic test by the true condition, On the Analyse-it ribbon tab, in the Diagnostic Accuracy group, click Bi-Histogram
  7. Optional: To show the diagnostic accuracy for each decision threshold, On the Analyse-it ribbon tab, in the Diagnostic Accuracy group, click Sensitivity / Specificity, Likelihood ratio, Predictive value.
  8. Click Calculate.
